Mourinho Fancies Real Madrid Return

Jose Mourinho has welcomed a move back to Real Madrid, saying he would have no problem rejoining the European champions.

Mourinho was sacked by Manchester United in December 2018 after three years in charge, following his abysmal run in the early stages of the 2018/19 Premier League campaign.

The Portuguese trainer is still enjoying his sabbatical leave as the rumour mill continues to link him with clubs in Europe.

The biggest of all the speculations are the reports that Real Madrid are interested in re-engaging him after appointing him in 2010 and sacking him three years afterwards.

The reports have been given some weight by a section of Real Madrid supporters openly, who have been chanting Mourinho’s name at some of the club’s recent games.

Mourinho has spoken about the links for the first time and said he fancies a move back to the Bernabeu since it is in the same league with former club, Manchester United.

“To a club that I have been before? If I think the right club, the right structure, the right ambitions, I will have no problem at all,” The Portuguese told beIN SPORTS over the weekend.

“I think it’s really a reason of pride when a club where you worked before wanting you back.

“The only club where I feel that is in relation to Manchester United, the moment I left with what I think I could have achieved and the improvement of a few things but all the other clubs I have the best possible feeling, which is I gave everything.

“Real Madrid made something extraordinary in Europe in the last five years is absolutely incredible. If you want to look at my time we are speaking for about seven years, seven semi-finals. Five years, four finals and four victories it’s absolutely amazing.

“Then you go to the marathons of (the league) in being stable, being regular and being strong from August to May going to the championship. I think in the last ten years they have won it twice so I think there is a big gap in the success in the knockout competition and not so much success in the marathons of the league.“
