Manhyia orders Asante Kotoko to remove Otumfour's image from jersey

Manhyia Palace have ordered the club’s board and management to remove Otumfour Osei Tutu II image from the jersey.

According to Kessben media, the Palace have instructed the management headed by Nana Yaw Amponsah to remove the embossed image of the King of the Ashanti Kingdom from the clubs kit.

The club outdoored their new jersey for next season with the sole shareholder of the club, Otumfour’s image in the jersey.
Mixed reactions greeted the unveiling of the the kits, which the management said it’s to honour the great King.
King Faisal FC owner Alhaji Grusah is at the forefront of campaigners against the decision of the management, insisting that it’s disrespectful and against customs of Asanteman.
Asante Kotoko won the Ghana Premier league with sixty-seven points in the just ended season and will be playing in the CAF inter-clubs competitions next season.
The Porcupine Warriors are billed to start their preseason in Ghana before departing to Turkey to continue their preparations ahead of the season.
Mudasiru Salifu, Kwame Baah and Fabio Gama have all departed the club, with Franck Mbella Etouga, Imoro Ibrahim and others reportedly on their way out of the club.
Asante Kotoko are on the verge of completing the signing of Ugandan striker Steven Mukwala and are expected to add more players to the side.
