GOLDEN CITY PARK HAS TEMPORARILY BEEN BANNED

The Ghana FA Normalization Committee has banned Berekum Chelsea from playing at the Berekum Golden City Park following attacks on officials of Kumasi Asante Kotoko,brightwebtv.com can confirm.

The venue which is the home ground of Berekum Chelsea FC and Berekum Arsenal FC has been closed down for an indefinite period according to the Ghana FA NC.

Report had revealed on Sunday evening about the ban and the NC have confirmed the news on Monday afternoon.
The decision comes as a result of the attacks meted to Kumasi Asante Kotoko officials and fans ahead of their clash with Berekum Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
Policy Analyst of the Asante Kotoko, Dr. Amo Sarpong was brutally beating, leaving him with several degree of injuries ahead of the game on Sunday afternoon.
The brutal attack followed gunshots fired by the Kotoko official which, according to a statement by Berekum Chelsea, ignited the whole brutal beatings.
A stray bullet from the five warning shots fired by Dr. Amo Sarpong is believed to have hit a fan of Chelsea minutes before the game, fueling the mob attacks on the Kotoko fans and officials.
Operations Manager of Kotoko, Perusha, is also reported to have suffered some brutalities as well as many supporters of the Porcupine Warriors.
The Golden City Park, which is a known notorious venue when it comes to club violence is, however, on the verge of suffering a serious punishment following the attacks.
Already, Aduana Stars are suffering a home ban following similar fan attacks on visiting Medeama SC when they clashed at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa on Wednesday.
With the attacks on Kotoko and the brutalities suffered by Medeama in Dormaa, the former Brong Ahafo Region is gradually becoming a notorious center for football violence and hooliganism.
The decision of the ban on the venue has been communicated to Berekum Chelsea.

The Policy Analyst of the Porcupine Warriors was whisked away by Policemen in Berekum after firing gunshot ahead of the match-day eight of the Normalization Committee Special Competition.

 

 

Asante Kotoko management Yaw Amoh Sarpong fired gunshots prior to the kickoff of their clash with Berekum Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.

 

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology lecturer pulled out a gun after the fans of Berekum Chelsea attacked two officials of the Kumasi-based club.

 

Mr. Sarpong was whisked away by the security men to the Berekum Chelsea.
