Legendary Ghanaian Reggae singer, Shasha Marley, born Julius Amua – Sakyi has revealed the secret behind his dread locks, saying he was inspired by John De Baptist in the bible.

According to the “Maata Family” hit maker In a live interview on Accra based “Accra Fm” monitored by brightwebtv.om said, his dreadlocks, he took the inspiration from john the Baptist.

The host of the program, Dr. K asked the maestro,’” you do reggae, you have dreadlocks, you go to church, you are a typical Christian, when people sees you at church with your dread locks on, and you sees them given you different eyes, how do you feel, because a lot of people have perceptions about the hair Rast?.

He said, look, you see, that stigma, someone with the locks go through when they go to church premises with the dreadlocks only shows that those people don’t believe the bible or don’t understand the bible they are reading.

Because paapa!!, the person who baptized Jesus Christ, opened the way for Jesus to start his ministry.

The person who laid his hands on Jesus Christ of Nazeret, and prayed for him, this same man opened the way for Jesus to start his ministry, if not because of this man, we wouldn’t have been here talking about church, am talking of John De Baptist,

He continue…… the Bible described him as a rasta, but excuse me to say, he was not a Rastaferian, he was a Nazeriet ,but his hair was rasta.

So it has become so common that if some group of people see madman walking, you see them shouting, rastaman bi abaa ha ooo!!! Rastaman bi na ek) noo!!, no no no no, not all rastamen are Rastaferian, you understand, some of them are Nazerrites , if you read the Bible you will understand.

So me, my role model, this man who baptized Jesus Christ, John the Baptist, I have said a lot about him, he gave me the inspiration to grow my dreadlocks, you understand now, and so me, even my pastor, I go to him, sit down with and have series of chats, he never made any comment on my dreadlocks”, he said.

The host then asked, which church did you go? and replied, synagogue church of all nation’s Ghana branch, Accra, and sometimes Nigeria, he replied.
