Ghanaian musician, Rebecca Acheampong, popularly known as Becca has been accused of sampling South African Sho Madjozi’s ‘John Cena’ hit song.

Becca has released a new song titled “No One” and according to a video trending on the internet, Becca copied South Africa’s singer Maya Christinah Xichavo Wegerif, popularly known as Sho Madjozi’s “John Cena” song

This sounds weird right? But when you listen to her latest song titled ‘No One’ you’ll understand why many people have gone up in arms (on social media).

Comparing Becca’s ‘No One’ to Sho Madjozi’s ‘John Cena’, it is clear that there are a lot of similarities between the two songs when you focus on the beat and the rhythm and since ‘John Cena’ came out first, most people have concluded that it was Becca who sampled the song.

Sho Madjozi’s “John Cena” song has currently hits over 12,147,083 views on YouTube after it was released in August 2019.

However, it is unclear whether Becca sought permission from Sho Madjozi’s before using her beat and sampling her style and rhythm for her song.
