AG CLOSES DOWN GHAMRO.(PICTURS AND VIDEO)

Information available to brightwebtv.com alleges that, The Attoney General (AG) has allegedly ceased the certificate of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO), which gives them the authority to collect monies on behalf of its members, to stop and close down their facility in Accra , charging them to resolve all their court cases before their certificate could be given back to them.

GHAMRO’s authority, to operate as a collective management organization, expired on April 3rd, 2022.

According to the information the AG has ordered the leadership of the association to resolve all their court cases and conduct proper elections before their lincese could be renewed.

In a video purported to be captured from the premises of the national headquarters, Accra, shows “closed down” indications on all the entrances and the doors.

However, per if it turns out to be true that GHAMRO’S certificate has expired, then it means it will be criminal to collect funds from any organization in the name of the association.
