Video: Akufo-Addo arrives in Tamale ahead of Ya Na investiture

President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo arrived in the Northern Region on Thursday, 24 January 2019 at about 3: 00 pm ahead of the historic coronation of the new Overlord of Dagbon, Ya Na Abukari Mahama II, on Friday, 25 January 2019.

 
Mr Akufo-Addo was met on arrival by the Northern regional minister Salifu Saeed, the defence Minister Dominic Nitiwul, Interior Minister Ambrose Dery, the Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and regional executives as well as citizens of the Dagbon traditional area.

The President is expected to grace the event at the Gbewa Palace as the Special Guest of honour for the enskinment.

 
The committee of Eminent Chiefs led by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the other two members, Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boresa Sulemana I and Nayiri Mahami Bohagu Abdulai Shariga will be joined by the National President of House of Chiefs, Togbe Afede VIII to grace the occasion.

Ya Na Abukari Mahama was selected by the kingmakers in accordance with the tradition and customs of Dagbon immediately after the two royal funerals performed by the Abudu and Andani royal families respectfully.
