Former President Jerry John Rawlings has closed down his office for two weeks due to the spread of the deadly coronavirus in the country.
The decision according to a statement from the ex-president’s office is to protect staff and potential visitors and will be reviewed after two weeks.
Mr Rawlings reiterated his call on Ghanaians to be mindful of their personal discipline and care as health officials work to combat the disease.
He called on all to wear masks, maintain appropriate social distancing, cough etiquette, and general hygiene protocols.

Ghana’s total COVID-19 caseload as at Thursday, 9 July 2020 stood at 23,463, according to figures from the Ghana Health Service.
The number of recoveries and discharges is 18,622.
There are currently 4,717 active cases.
