PARLIAMENT COMMISERATES WITH LATE DEPUTY CLERK’S FAMILY

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban SK Bagbin today led a high powered delegation to commiserate with the family of the late Deputy Clerk to Parliament in charge of Legislative Management, Robert Apodolla who passed away on Friday 19th February 2021, at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after a short illness.

The Rt. Hon. Speaker recounted how he has known Mr. Apodolla for the past 29 years and his immense contribution to the Parliaments of the Fourth Republic, and how Ghana’s Parliament, has over the years, benefited from his in-depth knowledge on Parliamentary practice and procedures.

The Majority and Minority Leaders, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu and Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, sorrowfully narrated how closely they worked with Mr. Apodolla and the serious efforts they made to sustain him on his sick bed while making arrangement for additional medical treatment for him.

The Clerk to Parliament Mr. Cyril Nsiah spoke about the close working relationship most staff enjoyed with the late Apodolla and pledged Parliament’s support to the family in these trying times.

A requiem mass will be held in Accra for the late Mr. Apodolla on Wednesday 28th April 2021. His mortal remains will then be flown to Navrongo where final funeral rites will be held.
