Elisha Debrah Odoom, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate in the Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam Constituency of the Central Region, who in a brazen vote-buying gimmick, distributed 11 cars to various wards in the Constituency, has been resoundingly rejected by delegates in the Constituency.

In what looks like a blinding slap in the face despite his opulent show of wealth, Mr Odoom obtained a paltry 67 votes out of 743 votes cast, coming third out of the four candidates who contested.

Out of the four candidates contested include Rasheed Kwesi Etuaful , Richard Hagan, Elisha Debrah Odoom and Ransford Kwesi Nyarko, a total of 743 delegates making up 134 polling stations and 47 electoral, Rasheed Kwesi Etuaful secured 411 votes.

The party conducted the parliamentary primaries in four orphan constituencies that the party does not have sitting Member of Parliament (MP) in the Central Region.

The four orphan constituencies are Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam, Agona East, Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem(KEEA) and Cape Coast South.

While three aspirants competed keenly for their slots, one thus Dr. Samuel Joe Acquah, an aspirant candidate for KEEA sent unopposed.

The new entrants are the Metropolitan Chief Executive(MCE) of Cape Coast, Mr. Ernest Arthur know in politics as Mayor 1, Prof Kwesi Yankah and Rasheed Kwesi Etuaful.

All the parliamentary candidates vowed to snatch the seat for NPP come 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections.
