National Service Scheme weeds out imposters with latest registration system

As part of efforts in cleansing the system of imposters who defraud prospective National Service Personnel under the guise of assisting them in various forms, the scheme has developed a robust system to weed out such unscrupulous individuals.

Deputy Executive Director in Charge of General Services, Madam Gifty Afia Oware-Aboagye made the revelation at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) during an orientation for the next batch of personnel to be enrolled onto the scheme.
According to her, several features have been introduced into the system which requires applicants to  use their National ID cards excluding NHIA cards that makes them eligible to log in.
“Another of such features is the biometric capture, the introduction of the personal dashboard only accessible to the personnel has also been introduced. This particular feature makes it very difficult for anybody except the personnel to log into the system”, she revealed.

According to her, the new developments and innovative ways introduced into the system by the new administration is also aimed at easing the frustrations that prospective personnel had to suffer in times past.

She took the opportunity to educate the students on the new Entrepreneurship Module introduced into the system to create space for young businesses to grow.
The Technical Team made up of the Director in charge of Deployment, Mad. Emma Hammond and Mr. Robert Nii Laryea Kuma, Head of MIS took the students through the simple steps of getting enrolled on the new system and how the new interface would appear at a log in via a demo.
They took time to answer all questions to clear the doubts of students.

In attendance were the Metropolitan, Municipal and district Directors of the Scheme in Ashanti Region including the Regional Director, Alex Opoku Mensah.
