Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has reacted to the “Ghana Beyond Corruption” comment made by Dutch Ambassador, Ron Strikker, stating that he made the comment out of ignorance.
He argued that if the Dutch Ambassador had read the Ghana Beyond Aid Dutch, he would have seen that a chunk of it addresses how to fight corruption.
Mr Oppong Nkrumah made the comment on Dwaso Nsem on Adom FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
Meanwhile the Dutch Ambassador has beat a sudden retreat on his claim, stating the “all efforts of government and civil society in Ghana to stamp out corruption are part and parcel of the Ghana Beyond Aid Agenda.”
The ambassador further added that he did not call for the replacement of the Ghana Beyond Aid with Ghana Beyond Corruption
“Much to my regret some media have suggested that I called fie the Ghana beyond Aid Agenda Agenda to be replaced by a Ghana Beyond Corruption Agenda. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Netherlands has been and will be a staunch supporter of the Ghana Beyond Aid Agenda initiated by President Nana Dankwa Akufo-Addo in 2017,” Ron Strikker stressed.
