Court orders arrest of Sosu

A Kaneshie District Court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Madina Member of Parliament, Francis Xavier Sosu.

The court issued the warrant after the lawmaker failed to appear before it (court) for the third time.

The MP, who is currently facing some criminal charges at the Kaneshie District Court was scheduled to appear before the court for the first hearing on the 8th of October, but the MP couldn’t make it due to his assignment.

The case was adjourned to 16th of November but on the D-day the lawmaker was absent.

Today, 29th November 2021, happens to be the third time the law maker has been absent from court.

The court case comes after Some residents of Ayimensa, Kweiman, Danfa and La Nkwantanang in the Madina Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, clashed with Police on Monday 25^th October 2021 after the latter attempted to arrest the Member of Parliament for the area, Lawyer Francis Sosu during a “Fix Our Roads” demo to press home their demand for better roads in the area.

The Police on Sunday 31^st October 2021 again tried to arrest Lawyer Francis-Xavier Sosu for the second time at the Believers House of Prayer Ministries in Madina.

The security personnel allegedly surrounded the church in an attempt to arrest the lawyer while he was worshipping  on Sunday.

Member of Parliament for the Madina Constituency, Mr Francis-Xavier Sosu, was scheduled for court today 8^th November 2021 after the police administration filed two charges against the lawmaker for the Fix Our Roads demo.

His absence in court has got people talking, with others suggesting that the lawmaker is afraid and that he is playing “hide and seek” with the Police.
