Angry Youths of the ruling New Patriotic Party in Yapei/Kusawgu constituency of the Savannah region have threatened to embark on a massive demonstration against the Akufo Adoo government if it fails to give key appointments to indigenes of the area.

According to the angry youths, since the party took over the leadership of the affairs of the country, they have been denigrated and sidelined, completely forgotten and their tireless efforts at securing victory for the party has gone unnoticed and unappreciated.
Checks by Adom News indicate that the last time someone from the Yapei/ Kasawgu constituency was given a governmental appointment was about 18 years ago under the erstwhile Kuffour government that why the people in the constituency feel neglected.

Speaking at the Press conference at Buipe, Ibrahim Mahafuzu Sapper, spokesperson for the youth group who is also former communications director for the NPP in the constituency said, they are informed of an attempt by government to appoint one Mrs. Gabiana Gbanwaa, a failed parliamentary candidate for Bawku Central, as the general manager for the PBC Shea Limited in Buipe which they will not agree.

“We want to state in unequivocal terms that, we will resist any such appointment and indeed the appointment of any person who does not hail from the Yapei/ Kasawgu constituency,” a statement by the group said.
“There are qualified persons in the constituency who can and will be able to perform and carry out their duties as expected of them when given the chance,” they added.

One of the angry youth who spoke to Adom News asserted that there has not been any major influence of the company on the living conditions of the people in the area.
“A company of this caliber should have been carrying cooperate social responsibilities such as the provision of potable drinking water, roads, and toilet facilities considering the fact that these are necessities in the area,” he said.
“School children don’t have enough furniture’s, something the company can provide but they are doing nothing about it. Do you think if the company was managed by an indigene, he won’t have done something about these challenges?” he quizzed.
