Rastafarians call off May 8 ‘weed demo’ after court injunction

Rastafarians and marijuana activists, who readied themselves for a weed legalisation demonstration on Wednesday, May 8 in Accra, have postponed the march until further notice.
In a press release sighted by Adomonline.com, the Chairman of the Rastafari Council in Ghana, Khex Pongo said they had to “postpone the intended march till further notice pending the decision of the court.”

In a post on Facebook, Monday, the association said May 8 was the scheduled date for the protest which would have taken place at the Freedom and Justice Park at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra.

The advocacy committee has pleaded with its members to remain calm and assured that another date would be communicated to them for the march.
