PRE-BURIAL MASS HELD FOR NPP’S C.K TEDAM

A pre-burial Mass was held in the early hours of Wednesday, June 19, 2019, for the late Chairman of the NPP’s National Council of Elders and consummate statesman, Hon. C.K. Tedam, at the Martyrs of Uganda Catholic Church in Mamprobi, Accra, as the first of series of event to mark his final funeral rites.

 

The well attended Mass, was graced by His Excellency President Akufo-Addo; Her Excellency Rebecca Akufo-Addo, the First Lady; Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Mike Aaron Oquaye; National Chairman of the NPP, Hon. Freddy Blay; the Chief of Staff, Madam Frema Opare; NPP General Secretary, John Boadu and other national executives of the party; Ministers of State;

 

Members of Parliament; government appointees; the clergy; regional and constituency party executives, and a host of sympathizers from across religious and political divide.

In his sermon, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie, who was the officiating bishop and main celebrant, while eulogizing the late C.K, admonished the congregation to take inspiration from C.K’s humility, selflessness, God-fearing attitude, dedication, and legendary commitment to the national cause.

 

The remains of the former celebrated NPP elder, had, after the Mass, since been conveyed to his hometown, Paga, in the Upper East Region where the remaining burial and funeral rites shall be performed.

As part of the rites, there shall be a cultural display and performance of a war dance on Thursday, June 20, and Friday, June 21, at the forecourt of the Paga Chief Palace, whereas on Saturday, June 22, a State Funeral shall be held in his honor at the Paga Primary Park, followed by a burial and funeral reception in Paga.

 

Finally, a Thanksgiving Service shall be observed on Sunday, June 23 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Paga, and another one in Accra, on Sunday July 28, at the Martyrs of Uganda Catholic Church, Mamprobi.
