A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO)”LIGHT FOR THE AGED”,got under way at Bepoase in the Sekyere South District of Ashanti Region,Ghana with the distribution of food items and a number of T-shirts to over 100 elderly and the needy running into hundreds of thousands of Ghana Cedis.

According to the information gathered by brightwebtv.com, the rationale by NGO founded by Nana Opoku Mensah,a U.S-based Ghanaian, was to accord equal status to the celebration of Mother’s and Father’s day in the African concept.
In Africa, mothers are prominently featured more than fathers during the ceremony.
Led by Nana Adonten Boateng Africa’s representative, and Wiamoase/Bepoase”Asenie”Chief, the group visited about ten poverty-stricken communities where some needy ones aged between 50years and 122years benefitted from the items.

Nana however, spoke in an interview with brightwebtv.com explaining, with time, the project would be extended to cover the entire Ghanaian community and probably the African continent
On the other hand, some beneficiaries in their moment of joy, showered blessings on Nana Opoku Mensah for remembering them from far away U.S
