President Akufo-Addo has extended Ghana’s border closure by another two weeks effective Sunday, April 5, 2020.
Announcing the date, Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah tweeted that:
Hi Folks, President @NAkufoAddo has by a new executive instrument, EI 66, extended the closure of Ghana’s borders by another two weeks effective midnight tomorrow April 5.
We continue to thank essential service providers who are at the frontlines of this covid-19 response program. We also thank the people of Ghana for their cooperation thus far. #ThisTooShallPass
It will be recalled that on March 21, 2020, President Akufo-Addo announced total closure of Ghana’s borders as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
“This closure will not apply to goods, supplies and cargo,” he said in the address then.
Ghana has recorded 205 COVID-19 cases with five deaths.
