Let’s fight galamsey together-Otumfour charges chiefs and politicians.

His Royal Majesty, Otumfuor Osei Tutu ll has charged both traditional and political leaders of Ghana to collectively work together and fight again galamsey in order to protect the forest reserves of the country.

The Asantehene stated that, the galamsey activities in the country is so disturbing and is not helping the development of the mother Ghana but rather destroying her.

Otumfuor in His speech further said that,the activities are destroying the natural resources of the country such as water bodies,forest reserves,as well as degrading our lands.

He said that,in order to save the country from crises in the nearby future,both monarchical leaders and political leaders should come together to fight against galamsey.

“The right culprits who are the owners of galamsey concessions should be fetched and brought to books rather than the police arresting the youth who are eager to find something to because of unemployment”,he added

The Asantehene made this call when he was speaking at the launch of the 2023 edition of Green Ghana Day at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology,Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
He urged all Ghanaians to take part in the activity that will take place on the 9th of June,2023, after he launched the program.
