KUMASI ABBATIOR : CATTLE DEALERS LAMENT OVER POOR SALES DUE TO COVID 19

Cattle dealers at the Kumasi abbatior are lamenting over poor sales ahead of the Ed el adha celebration due to the global outbreak of the novel Coronavirus.

According to them the sales is not effective as expected every year.

Every year during the Islamic months of Ed el adha Muslims around the world slaughter sheep’s and cows as sacrifice to Allah, the season gives highier sales to cow dealers around the world as most Muslims prefer cows as their sacrifice to God.

However cattle dealers in the Kumasi abbatior are lamenting over poor sales this year due to covid 19.

The acting Chief butcher at Kumasi Abbatior Mr Ibrahim Wahab Tikumh told Otec FM News Reporter Derrick Ekuoba Gyasi that the Coronavirus has really affected their business as compare to previous years.

He said the facility is currently having over 5000 cattle at their premises but there are know buyers since the COVID 19 has affected people’s pockets .

“Sales is not effective as compared to previous years when , but we can’t blame anyone since globally we are all experiencing economic hardship.

Commenting on the COVID 19 safety protocols ,Mr Tikumh said active measures are in place to prevent the spread of the virus at the facility

He prayed for God intervention to stop the pandemic as it could put the country’s economy into total collapse.

Mr Tikumh further urges  Muslims especially the youth to be cautious in this year’s edul Adha festival.
