Woyome wants 5-judge panel to hear his case

 

The oral examination of embattled businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome has been adjourned to 21 November, following another application he filed at the Supreme Court praying the highest court to empanel five justices of the bench to hear his case.

Class91.3FM’s Ibrahim Obeng-Mensah who was in court on Monday, 13 November said the decision was reached after both counsel for the two parties Deputy Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame and Osafo Buabeng, respectively, were called to the Chamber of the sole Judge, Justice Alfred A Benin.

Mr Woyome is supposed to answer questions relating to the payment of a GHS51.2 million judgment debt to him by the state.

At the previous hearing on 30 October, Mr Woyome presented a letter to the sole judge to inform him that he had fallen ill and, therefore, could not be available for the examination.

Accordingly, Justice Benin adjourned the case to 13 November to allow Mr Woyome to recover from his ailment.
