COVID-19: Upper East region records three new cases after contact tracing

MyNewsGh.com source at the Upper East Regional Health Directorate of the Ghana Health Service has confirmed that the region has recorded three new confirmed cases of COVID-19 after undergoing an enhanced contact tracing.

These cases according to our source were confirmed after samples of 44 persons who were identified through contact tracing.

The first case was tested by the Kumasi Center for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine.

According to our source, the three patients are showing mild symptoms of the disease.

Meanwhile, the Regional Health Director, Dr. Winfred Ofosu and the Regional Minister are expected to address the press soon on the latest development.

The Upper East Region recorded its first case of COVID-19 last week when a pregnant woman who is reported to have come from Tarkwa reported to the Regional hospital in Bolgatana when she was showing signs of the disease.
