COVID-19: 166 new infections recorded as Ghana’s active cases shooting up again

Ghana has recorded some 166 new COVID-19 cases, according to the latest figures of the Ghana Health Service.

The active caseload is now 1,559.

Since mid-March 2020, a total of 95,642 cases have been recorded here in Ghana.

Out of that number, 93,288 have recovered.

So far, 795 people have died of the disease in Ghana.

Regional breakdown:

Greater Accra Region – 52,599

Ashanti Region – 15,884

Western Region – 5,936

Eastern Region – 4,405

Central Region – 3,551

Volta Region – 2,605

Northern Region – 1,657

Bono East Region – 1,446

Bono Region – 1,424

Upper East Region – 1,320

Western North Region – 904

Ahafo Region – 750

Upper West Region – 500

Oti Region – 459

North East Region – 231

Savannah Region – 123
