Hon. Akwasi Darko Boateng, Member of Parliament (MP) for Bosome- Freho District of the Ashanti Region, has on Monday, 7th June, 2021 donated dual-desks to the Atobiase (D/A) Primary School in his constituency.
The donation formed part of the promise he made to the community when he visited the community during his “thank-you tour” after 7th December 2020 electoral victory.
Speaking to the media, monitored by Brightwebtv.com, Hon Akwasi Darko Boateng said this donation will encourage and release some tension from the students making learning a bit easier in a way.
He indicated that, the main problem in which most of the schools in the country currently facing is inadequate school furniture, and that has been one of the challenges facing the schools in the district and need to be addressed once and for all.
Hon. Akwasi Darko Boateng reiterated his commitment to education, adding that he would make sure every school in his constituency has furniture to make teaching and learning more conducive.
He donated 30 tables and chairs to the kindergarten, whiles the lower primary also got dual desks, and assured the rest of the communities that theirs will follow soon.
The Member of Parliament passionately lamented on the poor state of the school building coupled with lack of tables and chairs but couldn’t help than to come to their aid.
Receiving the items on behalf of the school, the head teacher, Mr. George Asante thanked the legislator for the kind gesture and wished him well in future endeavors.
