By:brightwebtv.com/nana asare barimah

Two Canadians have been reportedly kidnapped in Kumasi in the Ashanti region.

The suspects, according to the Kumasi Police, picked the two yet to be identified foreigners on the streets Tuesday night.

A crack team of CID investigators in the region have been dispatched on the case, Starr News can confirm.

The development comes in the wake of the recent kidnapping of a Lebanese Consular General by some Nigerians at Labone in Accra.

Mr. Nabil Makram Basbous, 61, was on a walk in his neighborhood at Labone in Accra when he was kidnapped by the suspects, known to be Nigerians.

A police situational report said a rescue operation took place at the Lashibi residence of the suspects after a tip off.

Meanwhile, three teenage girls who were kidnapped in Takoradi in the Western region in 2018 have still not been found despite the ringleader of the group that kidnapped the girls being arrested and put behind bars.

Statistics have also revealed that there were 64 kidnapping cases in 2018, 23 of which were true kidnapping cases and 28 of which were abductions.
