A video has gone viral on social media in which an angry mob descended on policeman subjecting him to severe punches over what is readily not known.

The unidentified policeman in a helmet is seen in the less than one-minute exchanging blows with his attackers who are pummeling him as he tries to defend himself with the voice of bystanders asking persons trying to separate the fight should allow the law enforcer to receive some sound beatings.
“Allow them to beat him”, the voice is heard saying at the background.
Details of what sparked the fight and where the incident remain sketchy but the wanton display of lawlessness by the attackers of the cop believed to be drivers and their mates have been condemned by a section of the public.
The latest attack comes a day after some irate youth at Paboase, in the Western Region attacked and injured two policemen while they were demonstrating against a local mining company in the area.

According to the police who confirmed the unfortunate incident to the media said, about 06:30 am on Friday March 15, 2019, the Divisional Police Command received information that some youth of Paboase, a notable mining community had blocked the main road between Chirano and Ntetreso preventing the mine workers from going to work.
The Divisional Commander therefore mobilised six personnel from his division to go and convince them to remove the barricade and allow free flow of vehicles.

When the team arrived the youth rather turned against the police and started pelting stones at the unprovoked cops.

In the process two policemen identified as General Sergeant Yankey and Lance Corporal Baba Ali sustained serious injuries and the back screen of the police Nissan Navara vehicle smashed.
