The family of a 12-year-old boy, Godsway Agbeshie is shocked over circumstances leading to the death of their relative Monday evening.
The deceased, who was a pupil of Aggrey Memorial School, was found dead between their hen coop and a drinking spot in front of their residence at Community 2, Tema.
His auntie, Juliana Sorkpor, who is a petty trader told Adom News the deceased did not show any sign of illness after selling vegetables he took round on Monday.

“I asked him to wash down and return to the market so we prepare supper because I mostly leave the market around 8:00 pm. A few minutes later, one of our neighbours, Patience Sonne rushed to me to break the sad news to me,” she said.

According to Ms Sorkpor, the neighbour told her the boy was not feeling well.
“Immediately she said that there was sudden chills down my spine and I had to rush home quickly. Godsway was lifeless and did not respond after tapping him thrice,” his auntie narrated.
With the help of some neighbours, he was rushed to a nearby health facility where he was pronounced dead.

Ms Sonne told Adom News she saw the deceased around the hen coop but least expected him to die so suddenly.
“I came down to dispose of some water. On my way up, I saw him by the hen coop. I remember telling him to go to his room if he was feeling sleepy. At the time I thought he was sleeping,” she recounted.
She got alarmed after all attempts to wake the boy up failed and had to rush to the market to inform his auntie.
Ms Sonne shared some fondest memory of the deceased.
“The deceased was a kindhearted boy who loved to give a helping hand. He was hale and hearty. I don’t think I will ever forget him and the manner in which he departed,” Ms Sonne remarked.

The body has since been deposited at the Tema General Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.

The Tema Community 2 Police Unit has also commenced investigations into circumstances leading to the death of the boy.
Plans are underway for Ms Sorkpor to break the rather sad news to the deceased’s mother who is her sibling.
The deceased was with his grandmother at Agbozume in the Volta region until Ms Sorkpor decided to bring him to Tema a little over two years ago.
