Murder Of Asantehene Asamponhene; Accused To Be Formerly Charged With Murder

Following murder of Asantehene Asamponhene Oheneba Kwadwo Afoduor II on August 2020, the Asokore Mampong district court presided by Her Worship Portia Molly Anafo Sallia has once again remanded the accused Mohammed Anwar Sadat a traditionalist to be reappear on March 2, 2020.
The court ordered the prosecution to fast track their investigations into the case to avoid posible dalay.
However the prosecution led by Police Inspector Edward Kwame Adade told the court prosecution have already forwarded the docket to the Attorney General which advised has been given that another stetement should be taking from a very prominent person in Ashanti couple with further investigations to enable prosecution to make very strong case against culprits.
The defence counsel lawyer Stephen Malaweh also said several statements have been taking from the accused their client Alhaji Anwar Sadat therefore they the defence counsels wish to be present before the police can take former statement from the accused.
The case has been adjorned to March 2, 2020 while the accused has been remanded into prison custody.
