A young man identified as Kwadwo Oppong Owuo, has reportedly committed suicide after allegedly shooting his wife, Yaa Sophia who is in a critical condition at Berekum- Biadan, a district in the Bono region.
Though the reason for Mr Owuo’s action is still unknown, the wife’s father suspects their marital issues triggered the crime.
Speaking to Adom News, the father claimed all three attempts by both families to settle their marital differences proved futile.
He explained that Mr Owuo was always the cause of their frequent misunderstanding, a situation which made his daughter pack out of their marital home.
According to him, the move by his daughter to pack out did not signify a divorce but rather a proper method of instilling peace between them.
Meanwhile, a friend of Kwadwo Oppong Owuo confirmed the deceased had been unhappy and complained of having problems with his wife.
The gunshot victim is unstable and is currently undergoing treatment at the Holy Family Hospital at Berekum with the body of her husband deposited at the hospital’s morgue by the police.
