Kasoa Police arrest 16 ‘wee’ sellers, armed robbers

The Kasoa Divisional Police Command have arrested 16 persons suspected to be criminals in an anti-robbery and narcotics operation in a bid to flush out criminals from the area.

 

 

Among the suspected criminals arrested was Eric Bonny, a notorious armed robber who has been terrorizing residents of Kasoa and its environs.

In an interview with Citi News, DSP Obiri Yeboah, the Kasoa District Crime Officer explained that Eric Bonny alias Abbey, the notorious armed robber attacked a husband and a wife, robbed them of their Mobile Phones and subsequently raped the woman around the Kasoa new market with some accomplices on 5th March 2019.
Another suspect who was arrested in the raid was 21-year-old Prince Otoo who gave his profession as a ‘wee seller’.
He was also arrested with 21 pieces of a substance believed to be Indian hemp together with unwrapped quantities.
Kwaku Boadu, a 33-year-old unemployed man was also arrested with 150 pieces of some wrapped substance believed to be Indian hemp.
According to DSP Obiri Yeboah, some of the suspects have been remanded in police custody while others would soon be arraigned to answer to charges.
While commending the public to assisting the police with information to arrest more criminals, he urged the public to do more to help the police ensure a safer society.

“All the three suspects have been remanded into police custody to reappear in court on 22nd March, 2019. All these successes that we have chalked are as a result of the cooperation from the general public. We acted upon information that was processed into intelligence. We, therefore, appeal to everyone that if you suspect ay person or group of persons involved in any nefarious activities, kindly hint the police to act upon them to make society safer for all of us”
