Ghanaian Journalist dies in terrorist bombing in Kenya

A Kenyan/ Ghanaian sports journalist and LG Electronics employee, James Oduor aka ‘Cobra’, is among those who have been confirmed dead following Tuesday, January 15, 2019 terror attack in Nairobi, Kenya.

Oduor worked at LG Company in the Customer Service Department situated at 14 Riverside in Nairobi

When the attacks began, the journalist was trapped inside the offices. His tweet, which sadly was his last, read: “What’s happening at 14 Riverside fam? Any news from out there?”

An official of the Kenya Football Federation, Nick Mwendwa, led tributes for the man described by sports journalists as a ‘ray of hope’ in Kenyan football.

It is reported that January 15, 2019 was also his birthday. He is survived by his wife and one child.

Earlier, it was reported that heavy gunshots and explosions rocked Riverside Drive in Nairobi following a terror attack at the luxurious DusitD2 hotel.

At least three cars were reduced to ashes while scores were injured following the attack.

It comes on the anniversary of El Ade attack that claimed lives of many Kenyan soldiers in Somalia.
