Breaking News: Scores injured as two Atwima Communities clash over dispute

Three people are in a critical condition at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching hospital, following a renewed dispute between Atwima Takyiman and Atwima Denchemuoso in the Kwadasa municipality.

 

 

 

According to an eye witness , about 20 youth from Atwima Denchemouso on Saturday February 2, 2019 at around 8:00 p-m attacked the youth of Atwima Takyiman with machete , knives, stick’s and other deadly weapons leaving two of Atwima Takyiman youth(Omanhene and Company ) sustaining serious machete injuries.
Youth from Atwima Takyiman according to reports reacted feriously and attacked residents of Atwima Denchemouso on Sunday February 3 , 2019 at around 2:00 a-m with deadly weapons leaving one Yaw Philip from Atwima Denchemouso in critical condition.
Although the cause of the renewed conflict is yet to be ascertained, a joint military and Police personnel were deployed to the two towns to restore peace.
Otec news Kwame Agyenim Boateng (Nana Kokooto) reported that the clash has left inhabitants from the two communities fearing for their lives.
Confirming the incident to OTEC News, the Station Officer for Denchemouso-Takyiman Police Command ACP Defor said: “There was a disturbance involving the two communities and three persons sustained machete wounds and were rushed to the hospital in a very critical condition.

ASP Defor noted they are yet to make any arrest however, investigations are on going to bring the culprits to book.
